St Andrews has been a Royal Burgh since 1140 when founded by King David 1. It has been a thriving Market Town for Centuries, & today much of the layout reflects the Medieval History of the town. Many of these Historic relics survive, and wherever you wander the past is always present amongst the hidden wynds, Castle and Cathedral ruins, which date back to the Middle Ages.
