The city known as Budapest really consists of three cities: Obuda, the old section, where Celtic and Roman ruins on the Buda side of the Danube can be found; Buda in the hills of the western bank, famous for its Castle Hill and residential areas; and Pest where shopping, government and commercial districts are located. United in 1873, Budapest is renowned as the location of one of the most beautiful World Heritage sites.
