Alley Springs Mill, Shannon County, MO

Alley Springs Mill and State Park is still a social gathering place in the Ozark hills of Shannon County, Missouri. Located on Missouri Highway 106 west of Eminence, Missouri Alley Springs provides a picnic area, camping, and hiking. Educational information provided by the Missouri Conservation Department cover history, conservation, and science of the area, which is available on location. Exhibits of grinding grain have been demonstrated by the Missoui Park Service.

It also has a oneroom schoolhouse on exhibit close by the mill. Alley Springs flows into the Jack's Fork River where fishing, canoeing, and camping are available in designated areas.

Alley Springs is a lovely picnic and hiking area. It is a popular meeting place for schools and business picnics from the surrounding area, or for a Sunday afternoon sightseeing tour, Alley Springs is a gorgeous place to visit.

I used to camp with my parents at Alley Springs also. I was wondering what the name of the closes horse riding trail is and how much it would cost for about an hours ride..I have 2 grandaughters that want to go riding next Sat. and I need some information before I come that far. Thank You

alley springs and circle B
HI I'm a local from Eminence.Just wanted to say that I read your article..Alley Springs is very special to me..My family at one time use to run the mill at alley Springs and i go there all the time...I'm a Chilton....and Circle B is still there but we lost Danny Staples last year....but he will always be remembered...they dedicated the new bridge in Eminence to Danny.....thank you for taking the time to read my e-mail

We Love It So Much....
Alley Springs is one of the places my Husband took me to visit, when we were visiting his "stomping gounds" for the first time. We loved the location so much that a year later we were married right by the mill on a beautiful day in late June. We could not have asked for a prettier back drop to profess our love for each other. Every year we go back to take pictures and visit this favorite spot. We look forward to bringing our children Alley Springs some day.

Mark - No Camping in Park
There's no camping in what you would remember as the main park. It's all picnic area. Camping is now what used to be overflow camping. Last I knew, last summer, Circle B is still there. In case you know Harvey Staples family, Robin is running Circle B since Danny is busy as state Senator.

Is there still a state park there? Camping used to be right on the stream. Anyone know how much still exists? Spent lots of time there at at a private park known as "Circle B" in the mid-late 60's. Heard it's all gone now.

Great Memories
Just beautiful. My family camped at Alley every summer while I was growing up; late '50's through the 60's. To me it was (and still is) the BEST place on earth . . . walking our dog Rusty every morning on the trail around the spring, horseback riding (with Buck, of course), roller skating at Harvey's, the rare cheeseburger lunch at Harvey's, wading and swimming in the Jack's Fork . . . I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
