Slagelse is a town located in Vestsjaelland, a W part of Sjaelland island, some 70 km W from Copenhagen. It is a typical Danish small town and I made a stop there during my holidays in Scandinavia. The town is really small, but neat and very quiet – at least it was on first Sunday morning in July 2004, with cloudy weather, when you expect the first rain drops will fall on you at any moment.

The architecture is different to that in Central Europe. Brick is the traditional building material, like in most of the places of NW Europe. I think this town is recommendable for everybody who wants to know places in Denmark which are not tourist traps. At least, this was my impression in Slagelse.

I am sorry I do not know more about the place and its history.

Just enjoy the pics.
