Assisi is a charming town with its flowers, birds and quiet. Its claim to fame is St. Francis who was born here in 1182 and spent his life in Assisi. Beautiful
These pictures are beautiful. Assisi is absolutely spectacular. However, the first two pictures are of St. Mary of the Angels. St. Francis was not baptized there. This was not built until after Francis died. St. Francis was baptized at San Rufino, in upper Assisi. The Porziuncola inside St. Mary's was St. Francis' adopted church and where he died.

Our ministry conducts retreats in Assisi every year since 1988. We feel there is no holier place on earth except perhaps the Holy Land. Our visits are usually no less than 4 days.
