the monkeys seem to hang out on the trail waiting for handouts from passing hikers. they are very intelligent and quite fearless. one large monkey saw a bulge where in the pocket where i was keeping my wallet and passport, and made a grab for it. luckily, the people with the canes are there to keep the monkeys in line. all the lady had to do was tap the cane on the ground and the monkey knew he'd better stop grappling with my leg... or else!
