on the way down the mountain we encountered a temple where a landslide had carried away part of the terrace. it looked like other parts of the terrace were poorly defended against erosion and ready to go as well. all of these construction materials had to be carried up either by man or mule. there were only a couple of exhausted looking mules, so it seemed the the majority of the carrying was done by man.
