Luzern
We visited Luzern in September of this year. This is one of the most beautiful cities we have ever visited. It also is onbe of the easiest to get around since rail, bus and boat are all at the same location. Old Town is a must see. Beautiful paintings on the buildings, clock towers, bridges and waterfront. Many activities around the lake as well via the great seam paddle wheel boats. We'll be back!

Luzern
Luzern is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Everyone should go at least once in their life, if they can. Top of the list for travel destinations. Also on a side note. The picture for the Chapel Bridge says that it may have burned down. Well I was just there a couple weeks ago and it is still there as beautiful as ever. So who ever said it has burned down was wrong. It is another great site in Luzern. One of many!

These pictures remind me when I went here, for my senior trip. I had just graduated high school and my firends and I took a tour through Europe. This place was my fav. out of them all. We took a train up MT. Rigi and the cable car down, It was amazing!! I'm actually looking forward to going again this summer.

My husband and I just got back from a tour of Europe and by far Luzern was the most beautiful place we went. Sitting outside eating at one of the restaurants looking at the covered bridge and the river with the swans was magical. The mountains in the background made such a presence. We loved Luzern. My mother and I were greatly blessed to be based in Luzern for a week. We walked around a lot, went up and down to Mt. Pilatus and took the boat ride on the lake to see the homes of the famous, etc.

It is a lovely city. I went there yesterday.Pity I only spent harf day there and it was not perfect weather either.But still the lake, the snow mountain, the bridges are perfectly beautiful. Strongly recommend to go there spring, summer,autum. Not raining winter!!

sweet
we just returned from our trip to luzern....."sweet"... people were very nice, city was extreemely clean..food was awsome. we did the mt pilatus cog rail trip>>>spectacular!!..also a day trip by train to bern, and another bus trip to interlockin. all in all, a very memorable trip...however, i sure missed my big cup of dunkin donuts coffee..."yikes,,swiss coffee's pretty nasty"..one day i hope a pack a thermos and return to switzerland. terry

I lived for one year in Luzern, as an exchange student. It was one of the best years of my life. Although, the people aren't the friendlist, I did meet my girlfriend there and will be heading back tomorrow. I love Luzern and recommend everyone to go there. By the way I'm now living in Heidelberg, also beautiful but not Luzern. Just one tip, don't go between late October and early Febuary. The weather is terrible and a bit depressing. However, I highly recommend the Luzerner Fasnacht (Carnival) starting every year two weeks before "Ash Wednesday" and ending on Mardi Gras. Have fun and enjoy!

off the beaten path

I have always heard of people going to Europe or another country and "falling in love with a city". Well, it happened to me when I went to Luzern. It is amazingly beautiful and the people could not be nicer. It is rich in history and charming. I have honestly thought ( more than once) of taking my 5 year old and moving there. It's peaceful, beautiful, and I will never forget it.

I had to chance to visit Luzern this past Januayr with my wife and we both loved the town. Yes, the bridge has burnt down but they have since repaired it. The hotel that we stayed in was the old jail, what a great experience being a jail-bird.

Just got back from Lucern. Beautiful city. Took tram and cog-wheel train down Mt. Pilatus. The lion sculpture was so moving. What a place to live!
