Salzburg is a magical place. It truly is a fairy tale land. I visited in May 2002, and plan to visit again next month. In addition to Salzburg the lake district on the outskirts is breathtaking. It is on the top of my list as one of my favorite places!

Oh, Mozart!
I was in Salzburg 7 times during the first Gulf War with my soldier husband. He played Mozart piano music and going to Salzburg was the most important thing to him. In the museum he was permitted to play Mozart's music on Mozart's piano! He came back home to America and majored in music following his time in the service.

The Dom in Salzburg gives me a feeling of being conected to the past. The ruts in the granite floor atests to the thousands of people to walk in this place over the centuries. It makes you feel as human as you can feel. It is awe inspiring and touching. My MOST favorite place in the world. I live in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida my other favorite place in the world. I will be back in Salzburg for the nth time in about 2 months. There is no more beautiful "at home" feeling place to me in the world.

Salzburg is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and endearing places I have ever travelled through. I went there twice while backpacking through western Europe. The people are so nice and, during Christmas time especially, the old town is so picturesque with Christmas bows draped above the cobblestone streets that it is simply breathtaking. I would go back in a heart beat. Thanks for jogging my memory.

I have been unable to find a shop listed in Old Town that sells Christmas Ornaments or a Salzburg Old Town Souvenir that can be made into a Christmas ornament. Do any of you know where I could shop on the web for such an ornament or souvenir?
