Living in Lincoln, Nebraska for the past four years, we have had an opportunity to explore the state's many interesting sites. It takes about eight hours to cross the state traveling I-80. Take time to see some of Nebraska's sights. Here are just a few:

Very Interesting
I'm here from FL working for FEMA for the tornados and flooding. I never thought I'd ever be in Nebraska but it is a delightful experience. This page is very informative. As soon as we get a day off I plan to visit some of these places as I do everywhere I am deployed. This state is very clean and green - I didn't know what to expect but am pleasantly surprised. I'm glad I found your site!

Take exit 137 off of I80 , on the north side , you will find a NPO museum of beautifully restored military vehicles and equipment , not to mention the tanks and other larger vehicles outside the building. A dedicated bunch obviously proud of their accomplishments.

Very suprised!
I lived near the beach in North Carolina! My Dad was Army and I was 12 when he came home from work one day and told me we were moving to Omaha, Nebraska. I cried, and cried, and cried. When it was time to pack up and leave I was so upset that I had to leave my friends and my house! When we got to Omaha I was very suprised at how lovley it was! The people there were so welcoming and kind! And even now I am proud to call it home!

I grew up in Lincoln in the 60's and now live in Michigan. I love going home and seeing how everything has changed over the years.Your pictures of the capital really bring back the memeries of when I delivered the morning paper in there every morning before school. I love this site, Thank You.

Where you come from
Plays a large part in who you become. 14 years in Nebraska played a huge part in the person I am today. I left a lot of friends and even more memories in a place that is just as beautiful as an ocean sunset in its own right. Thanks NE

I just wanted to say that this was a great site. I used to live in Gothenburg,NE and now reside in Ft.Lauderdale FL, where I am continuing my career in the Technology Field. It's great to see that people think of as nebraska as a quiet, peacefull place, and it is much more than that, It is also a great place to grow up. It's a place where you can find the beauty of nature, as well as sirenity, and the friendliness of the Nebraskan Residents. I don't know if there is a word to describe Ne, so I will just say this.....The Best!!!

Having traveled (and lived) all over the eastern U.S., my only trip onto the western Nebraska plains in late autumn of 1970 was, and remains, one of the most memorable few days of my life. The marvelous semi-isolation of that part of the world left a spiritual impression on me that to this day is almost as fresh as it was even at the time! One can actually feel the presense of the Oregon trail travelers as if they had only just passed through weeks before. I actually left a coin hidden atop Scotts Bluff thinking that I would almost certainly return there someday. Anyone who has not felt the (actual) aura of the earth which is undeniable in such places, needs to go there, leaving the "atv's" and "walkmans" at home. The world as nature, not man, created it can be nearly overwhelming there. Believe it!

Missing NE too.
These photos are breath taking...I lived in Kearney NE for 22 years and 3 years ago moved to the Outer Banks of NC. Im very happy to fall alseep and wake up to waves crashing and seagulls singing but there is something about good ol' NE that keeps calling me back and these photos say it all. Thank you

Missing Nebraska
Your website is wonderful. I am a native Nebraskan, and have lived there all my life. Except since this year, when I moved to Paris France. And while Paris is beautiful..I miss the plains of Nebraska and the beautiful sunsets that make your heart stop. The "Good Life" state
I think Nebraska, PARTICULARLY Western Nebraska, is one of the most interesting, culturally rich, and diverse areas in North America. Having lived all over the world, and even in Scottsbluff for 3 years (85-88), I can honestly say that the Cornhusker State is a great place to call home, and in my case, a place where I wish I could call home once again, someday. There is definately some sort of "magic" about Western Nebraska. I have heard that term used many times in literature and in personal accounts by many who refer to the area. This is an excellent website. Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts about the "good life" state.
