Tapalpa means "Land of Colours" in the ancient Tlapalpan language. Located 132 km. from Guadalajara, Tapalpa is a small town high up in the mountains, a splotch amidst the overbearing pine forests. The air is clear, pine-scented, and the bleating of the lambs and goats are carried clearly through the mountain air.
