- Mt. Bromo's crater is filled with volcanic sand. Can you see the small jeep traversing this "sea of sand?" Now that's how VAST the sand is. Conversely, that's how BIG the crater is! (The jeep came from the geological station.) *There's no telling if the past civilizations of Venus burned-up fuel like CRAZY back then or that the planet had a lot of non-stop volcanic eruptions to have caused such a thick CO2 atmosphere. (The latter is most likely.) But the bottom line: too much CO2 in the atmosphere is really bad & the way we're currently emitting it in our atmosphere, we may as well become like Venus down the road.
