Hazel Creek,located on the North Shore of Fontana Lake in the Great Smoky Mountians National Park. N.C. was the location of many thriving communities until the Tennessee Valley Authority forced the residents to leave their homes to make way for the Fontana Dam in 1943.The Dam is the highest dam east of the Rockies.The dam is 480 feet high and is 11,685 acres of water surface.
