I got this close because I had the oportunity to go on horseback safari, very shy animals and their poor eye sight make them either flee or attack, luckily the smell of horses confused them and gave me a chance to observe them far longer. Their name is not because them being white but was taken over by south africans who ment wide. (wide lipped rhino's) There are not many left in Kenya!
