November 2004. A brief weekend getaway to Warsaw was my first venture into Poland. Although not as popular with tourists as Krakow, Warsaw felt like one giant open-air museum. Like a phoenix rising from its ashes, it's difficult to believe the changes Warsaw has seen since the end of WWII. One must remember that most of the old town area has been completely rebuilt after 1945!
