Alexandrowka, Potsdam<br> Berlin picture - There is a small Russian neighbourhood in Potsdam, called Alexandrowka. Russian soldiers fighting along Prussian troops during the Napoleonic wars settled here instead of going back to Russia. They found wives, founded families and adapted to their new surroundings without completely losing their identity. They built isbas (traditional Russian wooden houses) with fine and ornate decorations, such as this one.
