Reichstag, Berlin Berlin picture - Seat of the German parliament, located a few yards away from the Brandenburg Gate. The building is another symbol of Germany's troubled history. It was built in 1884 by architect Paul Wallot to accomodate parliament. Before the First World War, Germany was ruled by the Prussian aristocracy rather than the Parliament. In 1933 the building was set on fire.
