Museum of Contemporary Art - Tehran
Tehran picture - Photo: Roloff Beny --- An event at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran during the last years of the reign of the late Shah of Iran. (1976-77) My guess is that the guests in this picture had no clue that evening about the tumultous revolution that would soon throw Iran in to chaos and disorder and make their futures most unpredictable. Just like the poor souls on the Titanic didn't know what an unfortunate disaster was awaiting them that unmercyful cold night in the darkness of the Atlantic. I wonder what happened with all these people, and where they are now. For most of them those were the "good old days". Tehran was a hot scene for high-end fashion, as super-elegant and extraordinary beautiful women, fanatically adhered to the latest in vogue, dictated from Paris or Milan. Today's Tehran and today's fashion, no matter where in the world, is another story all together!
