Twitter and Facebook Links

How many of you are actively using social networks and social bookmarking/microblogging services? Which ones do you use?

Recently I’ve been playing with new ways to share (public) Worldisround articles and photos through social networks. I just added the new Facebook ‘Like’ button and added a ‘Tweet This’ button. I would love some feedback about these and any requests for where to focus my efforts :)

  • I agree with malange about allowing direct uploading from mobile devices. Social networking is not a high priority for me but giving people access to my photos is.

Hi! Thanks for looking into the social networking-link capability. For me, this not important, as I don’t use either site. My process is to build a gallery, and then privately direct my friends and family towards it. I may be in the minority, but I don’t have the need to randomly share my life with the world.

Recently, however, I’ve acquired a new Smart-phone (Palm Pre-Plus, thru Verizon), and I wanted to upload a photo or two to my Worldisround account. Imagine my surprise when I learned that I’m only allowed to upload to Facebook or Photobucket. Apparently, your site must provide an “app” to Palm / Verizon to enable photo uploading.

In other words, I’d prefer to continue to use Worldisround as my photo sharing tool, as opposed to those other non-private, advert-laden sites. If I could nudge you in that direction, I’d suggest you focus on direct uploading from mobile devices as the next big advance.

    Thanks for listening!
    Regards, David
