Article Stats are Not Complete (Yet)
As of October 26, visits and pageviews for mid-2005 and earlier are still being calculated. I.e. some of your older articles actually have a lot more pageviews and visits than currently shown.
What is a Pageview?
Article pageviews are a simple way of tracking how much attention your articles are getting. Every time that an article page is viewed, a 'pageview' is recorded. This includes viewing the article index page, a photo page and even a slide in a slideshow. If someone visits your 100-photo article and looks at each photo once, that will probably result in a little over 100 pageviews. (If someone clicks through to the article then immediately leaves, only 1 pageview is counted.)
What is a Visit?
Visits are another way to track how popular your articles are.. When someone views your article, whether they glance at 1 page or 100, then 1 'visit' is logged. Visits are a composite of how many people are viewing your article and how often. Visits are not effected by how large your articles are or how much time they spend on your article during a visit.
When are Article Stats Updated?
Article stats are updated once per day, around midnight EST. (So when you publish a new article, you won't know how much traffic it is getting until the next morning.)
