Worldisround Help  -  Creating Articles

Worldisround is a place to share articles. Articles are like photo albums but with more depth. Photo albums on other sites tend to be random collections of photographs but when users create articles on Worldisround we encourage adding explanations, stories, and advice alongside those photographs, providing an overall context for the photographs such as a particular vacation or pictures of a particular city.

There are two types of Worldisround articles: travel articles and personal articles. Travel articles contain mostly pictures and descriptions of places of interest. Everything else is considered a personal article.

If you are posting a public travel article, please try to keep your audience in mind. Pictures of local scenery, people, and architecture will be most appreciated by your fellow travelers. Articles of strictly personal interest (e.g., pictures of family and friends), or idiosyncratic themes (e.g., your poetry), should be put in the "personal" category rather than posted to the public site. Please do not post sex, advertising, aggressive remarks or other inappropriate things on the site.

Before creating an article you must have a Worldisround account. Articles are created in your User Workspace. Articles are usually made up of the following parts:

When you begin creating an article it is considered incomplete and unpublished. When it meets the above requirements (i.e. it is complete) you can publish the article and it will appear on Worldisround. Personal articles are listed on your homepage, unless they are hidden. Travel articles are listed on your homepage and in the Explore the World section. Articles must be published before their photographs can be hosted.

You can go back and edit published articles at any time, editing text, changing categories, adding and removing photographs, and even converting personal articles into travel articles and vice versa. When you are editing a published article your changes do not appear publicly until you click Save Changes. You can also undo all of your changes by clicking Cancel Changes.

To delete an article, you must edit it then click on the 'Delete Article' button.
