Invitation-only articles can only be viewed by the author and
by people that they e-mail the article to.
When the author of an invitation-only article uses the
E-mail this article/photo
feature to e-mail the article to someone else, an invitation is included in the
URL in that e-mail. The recipient must use that special URL in order to view
the article.
Since e-mailing an invitation-only article is the same as handing out the
invitation, only the author can e-mail the article to others.
Friends, even with an invitation to view the article, are not allowed to e-mail
the article to anyone else

Travel articles are always public and
cannot be invitation-only.
