Worldisround Help  -  Personal vs. Travel Articles

Worldisround articles and photos are roughly divided into two types: personal and travel. When creating an article, please consider carefully which category your articles fall under:

Travel articles... Personal articles...
  • contain mostly pictures and descriptions of scenery and places of interest.

  • contain mostly pictures of family and friends, or are not of interest to the general public.
  • e.g. the Eiffel Tower

  • e.g. Elizabeth with the Eiffel Tower in the background
  • is intended at all Worldisround visitors.

  • is only intended for friends and family.

  • are listed both on user homepages (to share with friends and family) and in the Explore section (to share with the rest of the world.)

  • only appear on user homepages so that your family and friends can look at them.
  • are always public.

  • do not count towards personal storage. You may upload an infinite number of travel photos.

If you're not sure whether your article is a travel article, a good rule of thumb is to ask yourself if the pictures are of something that can be visited. Pictures of flowers in your garden would be a personal article, but pictures of flowers at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens would be a travel article.

Viewers expect to see at least 10-20 photos in travel articles, plus a fair amount of description. If your article has only one photo, or it isn't clear what your photos are of, or most of the photos are of your friends then your article should be considered a personal article.
