- Personal Photo Storage Limits for Free Users

As a Free member of Worldisround
you can upload hundreds of personal photos.
Our limits are as straightforward as possible: you have a maximum
total number of photos that you can upload.
You can upload large photos (up to 3MB per photo) without worrying about
the surprise monthly bandwidth limits that other services might hit you with.
- Personal Photos are Unlimited for Premium Users

When you upgrade to a Premium account
you are no longer bound
to the old 1000-photo limit. You can post 100,000 photos. 1,000,000 photos.
And you can use our Image Hosting features to use your photos on other sites.
- Travel Photos are Unlimited

Whether you have a Free account or a Premium account,
you can upload as many travel photos as you like.
Upload millions, if you like.
But make sure that you know the difference between
personal and travel articles first!
(We started out as a travel photo sharing site, but
many users have adopted us for all their photo sharing needs.)
- Hitting the Limit

We try to be open and honest about the limit, without going all
Pit-and-Pendulum on our users about it. So we expect you to go
over the limit and to be a little confused when you get our gentle reminder
message. (Don't worry, we're not going to immediately delete your photos
and kick you off the site. That would be really bad for both of us.)
This is how it works:
- You publish some new photos and you've suddenly gone over the limit.
- The next morning, Worldisround sends you an e-mail telling you that you're
over the limit. You can't upload any more photos, but all of your published
articles are unaffected.
- Two weeks later, if you are still over your limit, you are sent another
e-mail. Your personal photos can no longer be viewed and image hosting is
disabled for Premium users.
- Sometime after that, we might delete your photos. We haven't actually done
this yet (as of September 2007) because we wanted to release the new, friendlier storage
limits first.
Make sure that you can receive e-mails from Worldisround. If you aren't
checking your Worldisround account and you aren't getting the warning messages
from Worldisround, you could end up losing your Worldisround account.
- How to Get More Storage

To get more personal photo storage you will need to upgrade to a paid
Premium account ($29.95/year),
which will give you unlimited photo storage.
We occasionally grant bonus storage to users. Sometimes as an apology.
Sometimes because they've given us helpful feedback.
Sometimes we grant personal storage to prolific contributors of travel photos.
Sometimes we just feel like giving it away. We have no real system for this
and it totally based on our personal biases. Bonus storage is permanent, can be
added to Free accounts, and does not go away when your Premium account expires.
- Unpublished Photos

Unpublished photos are not currently counted against the
storage limit. Always make sure to save changes to articles and publish
your articles since unpublished articles/photos and unsaved changes may
be deleted.
(Unpublished photos also cannot be hosted.)
