About Us

World Is Round is a small editorial team covering travel photography: the cameras, lenses, bags, and workflow tools people actually carry when they are far from home. Marisol Ferrante runs the site and has spent years shooting landscapes and street work across three continents. Desmond Achebe edits our gear coverage and comes from a documentary and wedding background, and Hana Lindqvist handles our technique guides, colour and editing pieces, and travel logistics reporting.

We choose what to cover by watching what readers keep asking about — a body that balances weight against low-light performance, a tripod that survives checked baggage, a hard drive that will not die in humid heat. We buy or borrow the gear, use it on real trips rather than a desk, and keep it long enough to see how it holds up after airport handling, rain, dust, and a few hundred gigabytes of files. When we cannot test something ourselves, we say so plainly and explain what our recommendation is based on instead.

Our verdicts are written after the shooting is done. We note where a product disappointed us, where a cheaper option is genuinely good enough, and where the sensible answer is to keep what you already own. Guides get revised when firmware, prices, or successors change the picture, and we date every update so you can see how fresh a recommendation is.

World Is Round participates in the Amazon Associates programme and earns from qualifying purchases made through links on this site.

We read everything that comes in. If you have a question about a camera or a destination, a correction to something we published, or a request for a guide we have not written yet, use the contact page and one of the three of us will reply.
